Course Description
Review of key requirements of the IATF 16949: 2016 Standard, Internal Audit methodology, workshops and role-play exercises.
The course is applicable for both new internal auditors as well as internal auditors with past experience who just want to improve their skills.
Our instructors are certified, professional, active Auditors who introduce best practice methods of audit technique and method. Instructors will review the clauses of IIATF 16949: 2016 in detail and introduce best practice approaches to auditing each IATF 16949 Clause. As the ISO 9001 standard is the base standard for the IATF 16949 standard, the course instruction includes review of ISO 9001 requirements.
Attendees successfully completing this course receive a Certificate of Achievement that will serve as evidence of Internal Auditor competency.

Understand the organizational benefits of a strong internal audit program, and how effective internal audits drive continual improvement of an Organization’s environmental management system.
Understand the requirements of the IATF 16949: 2016 standard.
Understand the scope and purpose of the ‘IATF Rules manual’ for achieving and maintaining IATF.
Understand the role of the IATF automotive subscribing members.
Understand how to access, monitor and apply IATF Sanctioned Interpretations
Understand the application of Customer Specific Requirements.
Understand the role of AIAG Core Tools within the framework of an IATF 16949 system. Please note that an in-depth analysis of the AIAG Core Tools requirements within the APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC and MSA manuals is not part of this training course.
Understand best practice internal audit methods, and the roles and responsibilities of an internal auditor.
Conduct all phases of an internal audit using a process, risk-based approach.
Understand how to identify Strengths, Opportunities and Nonconformance findings.
Understand how to conduct a verification audit to confirm effective corrective action and closure of nonconformance findings.
Prerequisites
No prior IATF 16949 knowledge or prior Internal Audit experience is necessary. Prior knowledge of ISO 9001 is recommended, but not required.
Course Materials
Participants will receive a hard copy three-ring course binder with class slides, and supplemental training materials and examples, along with an electronic copy of the Power Point training course slides.
Copies of the standards are not included in the class fee. Students must bring their own copy of the IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 Standards. All other materials will be provided.
